(11/03) BGB Championship Push Lasts Until Final Moments Of 2008An already close championship got even closer during the final minutes of a fiercely contested Bosch Engineering 6 hour Koni Challenge Series finale at Virginia International Raceway this past Sunday, with the biggest impact on the championship coming when an incident on track forced teammates Jon Miller and Craig Stanton to retire their #83 BGB Motorsports Porsche 997 in 15th place, 5 laps and ten minutes from the end of the 155 lap event.
(08/25) Jon Miller highlighted in Grassroots Motorsports MagazineIn this month's issue of Grassroots Motorsports magazine, Miller was highlighted among 11 other drivers in an article showcasing a "Dynamic Dozen" of "Who's Hot On Track."
If you don't already subscribe to Grassroots Motorsports, check it out at your local retailer and look for Jon on page 84!
(08/20) Podium Finish for Miller at Iowa SpeedwayAfter a disappointing run at Barber, where a pulley failure during the race sidelined us and put us many laps down, we headed to Iowa for Koni Challenge’s second visit to Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.
(07/25) Porsche comes up short at home raceA trio of Ford Mustangs swept the Koni Challenge podium following Saturday’s race at Barber Motorsports Park, as the 5th round of the series marked the official half way point for the 2008 season. An onslaught of Ford Mustangs and BMW M3s proved unbeatable thought, as only one Porsche finished inside the top 10, in 9th place.
(07/11) Watkins Glen - A chance taken and a chance missedWatkins Glen, a track that I love to drive, was not kind to many of my fellow Koni Challenge competitiors. Our race was plagued with caution after caution adn it seemed that everyone got even more aggressive and desperate on each restart. I knew that we had the car and the strategy to finish at the front, so my job was easy... stay out of trouble! Easier said than done, as many of the other drivers found out.
(07/03) Troubles North Of The BorderBGB Motorsports has been keeping busy. Along with their two-car Porsche team, they have recently added a Scion tC to the stable. BGB has become a part of Scion racing history, as they campaigned the Scion tC at the Mid Ohio round of Koni Challenge ST competition, the first time a car of that make has run a professional road race.
(04/15) Changing ships, midstreamThis blog entry was posted on Grand-AM.com and I have put it here as well:
(02/01) Miller and Russel score top 5 in the Fresh From Florida 200 at DaytonaJon Miller, co-driving with David Russell in the #99 Automatic BMW M3 sponsored by Weeden Consultants and Fresh From Florida started the season off on a high note. Miller took advantage of a rainy qualifying session to post the 3rd fastest time. Starting from the second row, Jon challenged for the lead as soon as the green flag fell.
(08/19) Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres – North of the BorderIn my first street circuit race, we started the race from the back of the grid due to engine problems during qualifying. But we drove up through the field to an 11th-place finish and earned the Suntrust Improve Your Position award.
(07/22) Barber Motorsports Park – Hot Hot HeatAn issue with the fueling rig during a pit stop and a cut tire late in my stint resulted in a disappointing result. But it was another good day for the team with the 09 extending their lead in the points championship.
(07/07) Watkins Glen – A Different ApproachA 12-place finish at Watkins Glen felt really nice after our string of early-season rough luck. It was also a great weekend for Automatic Racing with all four team cars finishing in the top 12.
(06/24) Mid Ohio – A New Co-driverSome more tough luck meant an early end to the race for me and new co-driver, Serge Glazunov, Jr. We're looking forward to Watkins Glen and our next chance.
(06/17) Mosport – Oh so close!A top-ten finish on the lead lap Mosport International Raceway, one of the fastest, hairiest, most fun tracks I've ever raced.
